Greg Nielsen is an adventurer, world traveler, an entrepreneur, and an advocate for autism awareness. He is a proud father, lucky husband and fortunate friend. Greg’s Professional background is in emerging technology. He received his degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Information Systems.
He was the Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of IP Telesis which later merged with Velocity. In 2004 IP Telesis began as a global wholesale VoIP services provider.
During his tenure, he designed and built the network, formulated the key vendor relationships, secured multi-million dollar funding and signed contracts for services totaling $20 million in recurring fees over 4 years. He is the Founding Partner of XILEC Telecommunications, a world-class telecom consulting company specializing in the medium to Fortune 1000 market. He is responsible for developing strategic partnerships with companies like Level (3), CenturyLink, Verizon, SBC and Global Crossing. He doubled the channel partner program at XILEC as well as formulated the strategic direction for this organization. During his employment, Mr. Nielsen has deployed communication systems around the world, including Vietnam, Russia and Mongolia.
Greg Nielsen was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gadgets.com in the late 90’s, a global on-line company specializing in extraordinary and unique products for better living, with product distribution in France, Italy, The Netherlands, England, and North America. He later orchestrated the sale of Gadgets.com to a competitor in the U.K. in 2003 with a net return to shareholders of nearly 90% of their investment over a period of three years. Mr. Nielsen has also worked in the Software industry as a Senior Sales Executive for Oracle (Siebel) and formerly Vice President of Sales for GoStrategy, a technology integration, IT outsourcing, and management consulting firm.
He spent several years at XO Communications (formerly Nextlink) immediately after the Telecom act of 1996 at the birth of the CLEC industry. While at XO he earned presidents club honors, including the #1 sales representative nationwide for the Nextlink Solutions division in 1997. Mr. Nielsen held positions of Training Manager and Senior Sales Executive roles with XO.
